Welcome to First Baptist Church of Garland mission's blog. My name is Jim Witt and I am the Associate Pastor for Missions at FBCG. We are one of the oldest churches in Dallas county (started in 1868) and in many ways a very traditional Southern Baptist Church. As the Minister of Missions at the church (along with 4 or 5 other responsibilities), it is my wonderful job to have a piece in leading the church to reach out globally and locally with the incredible good news about Jesus of Nazareth. To my way of thinking this is the golden age of global outreach. Never before have so many opportunities been available. One of the biggest tasks of our missions leadership is to determine where God would have us involved.
The pages of this blog will reflect those places where we have sensed God calling us. So feel free to return from time to time to see how God is leading us.

The salvation story with balloons, how interesting! I bet the kids loved it! Mom, I love it that you are able to translate for all of those children!
Paul, those children seem VERY HAPPY to be looking at the pictures, I bet they thought that was very cool!
