Today was fabulous! We had about 75 people come to VBS and to the other activities we held. The weather was nice and sunny- probably about 80 degrees which is a heck of a lot better than the over 100 degree weather in Texas and Oklahoma (where I am from). The kids had a blast singing and praising the Lord. One thing that is truly inspiring to me is how happy and excited the kids are when they are at church praising the Lord. They are so thankful for what they have and some really don't have much in terms of material items. But, they realize that they have a church, and friends, and most importantly, they have a God who cares about them.
Houston led devotional tonight back at the hotel and he said that God doesn't look at what you have but at how you use what you have. That really spoke to me and I think it is a challenge for everyone. So, I leave with a question for anyone who reads this. How are you using what God gave you (i.e. your talents, abilities, job, etc) to further his kingdom?
Oh, I thought I was done but I also want to say that I am so thankful that I am on this trip with some amazing people from First Baptist Garland. Everyone is so flexible and ready to serve the Lord in any way that they are asked. My hubby, Paul, and my grandma, Jamie, and myself are the ones here from Oklahoma and we have enjoyed and been encouraged by the FBC Garland people as well as all of the Brazilians.
Tchau! ( I think that is how you spell it!)

Taryn, I am so glad that you, Paul, Grandma, Christian, Tia, Tio and the Garland group are allowing yourselves to be used by God as witness to the Brasilians!
